Glashütte Original, which is considered to be one of the most important German origin brands in the watch industry, launched a new women’s version of its iconic PanoMatic Collection.
Being the most striking part of the model, the stunning dial is crafted by the manufacturer’s own dial making atelier in Pforzheim. Due to the super fragile nature of the material, it requires extreme caution to work with natural mother of pearl dials. The back side of the mother of pearl piece is coated with a layer of blue lacquer in order to obtain the right blue tone for the dial. Since the naturally textured layer of natural mother of pearl randomly changes, the dial makes each watch a unique piece.
The classic Panoroma Date window, displaying a pair of date disks, is located at the 4 o’clock side of the dial in an oval form.
The fully mirror polished round case is made of stainless
steel with. 39.4mm diameter case is decorated with 82 pieces of
brilliant cut diamonds with a lay out of 64 radiant white brilliant
cut
diamonds on the bezel and 18 brilliant-cut diamonds set on the
sub-dial’s indexes. A 3mm brilliant-cut diamond decorates the
winding crown making a total of 83 brilliant-cut diamonds and 1.09
carats.
The case sports sapphire crystals on both sides.
The timepiece is powered with the brand’s in-house automatic movement Caliber Ref. 90-12. The movement beats at 28800vph and offers 42h power reserve when fully wound. Featuring many traditional watchmaking details and decorations like the typical three-quarter plate, flame blued screws and duplex swan neck fine adjustment, Caliber Ref. 90-12 can be seen through the sapphire crystal caseback.
Glashütte Original PanoMatic Luna Boutique Edition is fitted with a blue Louisiana alligator leather strap which matches the color of the dial and a stainless steel pin buckle. The price is Euro 17,500.
