Glashütte Original PanoMaticCalendar

Glashütte Original PanoMaticCalendar

Glashütte Original, one of the leading names in Germany's traditional luxury watchmaking, introduced its new model PanoMatic Calendar series. The new collection, which hosts two different references, one of which is a limited edition, became the brand's first model family equipped with the annual calendar complication.

The German-origin brand, which continues its activities under the Swatch Group, also has some distinctive privileges, especially due to its production capacity and the fact that the facilities are located in Germany. The well-established brand, which gave life to dozens of successful models in high watchmaking, is known for its many characteristic design details, especially the panoramic date display.

The new model family added by the brand to the Pano product line, on the other hand, finds its place in the catalogs as the first annual calendar series bearing the Glasshütte Original signature. In the meantime, Glashütte Original has a wealth of experience, especially in traditional complications. The fact that the brand, which has many models with Tourbillon and Perpetual Calendar features, has included a complication such as the Annual Calendar, which is relatively easy to design and produce, is naturally a bit interesting.

Let's come to the features of the new series… Glashütte Original PanoMaticCalendar comes with two different case options, one of which is made of 18K 5N rose gold (standard production) and Grade 950 platinum (limited production with 15o pieces). There are sapphire crystals on both sides of the cases, which are designed with a diameter of 42mm and a height of 12.4mm.

In the new model family, the dials also come in two different types specific to the reference, along with the case. The 18K 5N rose gold version features a traditional dial with a silvery background. The elegant dial sports applique indices rose gold and blued hands. The platinum case version, on the other hand, has a skeleton-style dial that gives the model a modern feel with its industrial look. The dial, which is equipped with galvanized black components, has applique indexes and blue hands.

The dial design retains the off-center time display detail, the signature design element of the Pano Collection. The most important difference from the other models is the moon indicator that slides along the rounded circumference of the dial in the lower right dial. The 12 months are listed in hollow numerals and there is a black disc on the single ball slides at the bottom of the dial to highlight the current month. The PanoMaticCalendar also includes several updated aesthetic details that focus on organizing the information on the dial. German labels such as Mondphase and PanoramaDatum found on the current generation PanoMaticLunar are not included in these models.

Caliber 92-09 and Caliber 92-10 movements give life to new models. While the rotor located off-center is designed in the 18K 5N pink gold version in a color matching the case, the movement of the platinum model is powered by the black rhodium-plated rotor. The movements, which offer a power reserve time of up to 100 hours when fully wound, host the hour, minute, small seconds, moon phase functions as well as an annual calendar feature with a Retrograde moon display and panoramic date window.
