Panerai Luminor Yachts Challenge – 44 mm (PAM00764 - PAM00788 - PAM01020)

The new series reflects the brand’s intertwined philosophy with open seas and sailing. The three chronographs are distinguished by the color combinations of the dials and straps, which differ according to the case material. The different materials used to make the Luminor cases of the three models – titanium in the PAM00764, black ceramic based on zirconium oxide in the PAM00788, and 18K pink gold in the flagship PAM01020 – mean that watch enthusiasts can choose between three different characters as sporty, technical and classic.

PAM01020 features a stunning blue dial, while the PAM00764 and PAM00788 are home to black dials, which is the most appropriate alternative to the theme and color. All models come with Super LumiNOVA phosphor material applied hands and indexes offering efficient legibility in darker environments. The sandwich type dials designed in Bi-Compax chronograph layout feature PYC letters at 6 o’clock, which refer to the Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge that the models are dedicated to.

Their water-resistance is guaranteed to a depth of 100 meters (10 bar) for the ceramic and the titanium models, and to 50 meters (5 bar) for the model in gold. The titanium and ceramic models are equipped with solid titanium case back while the 18K pink gold model is crowned with a sapphire crystal display case back.

All the models in the new series are powered by the entirely Panerai manufacture Caliber P.9100. Measuring 13¾ lignes and 8.15 mm thick, 37 jewels self-winding movement beats at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph) and offers a power reserve of 3 days (72 hours) thanks to its double barrels. The movement is equipped with Flyback chronograph, seconds reset, speed calculator expressed in knots through the tachymeter scale on the flange, and rapid hour adjustment.
