Hamilton, one of the constant names of entry-level Swiss mechanical watches, offers a stylish and modern design with its new skeleton-themed model, the Jazzmaster Skeleton Auto.
Before joining the Swiss watch giant Swatch Group, Hamilton continued its life as an American brand for a significant period of about 70 years. Today, the brand maintains its place among the favorite choices of watch enthusiasts with its rich product group, above-class production quality, and affordable prices.
Producing skeleton-style watches is not a new issue for Hamilton. We have encountered models designed with this theme in different product groups of the brand before. Even the brand's iconic Ventura model family greeted us with a skeleton-style dial in the limited edition version. The model that is the guest of our review corner today is included in the Jazzmaster Collection, which offers the brand's stylish and timeless designs.
The new model comes with a 40mm diameter case, which we can consider as an optimum size in today's conditions. Grade 316L stainless steel case features scratch-resistant sapphire crystals on the front and back. While the lugs that look like they were added to the case later, refer to the brand's past models, the large winding crown offers a user-friendly profile. Designed in a retro-chic style, the case is resistant to water pressure up to 50 meters.
The dial of the model comes in skeleton form, as mentioned in its name. The dial with anthracite-tone PVD coating is designed to resemble the brand's spiked H logo. On the closed part of the dial, Super-LumiNOVA phosphor-filled applique hour markers and minute scales are included. The Hamilton logo is added at 3 o'clock. Phosphor material is also used in the sword-style hands, which are designed per the hour markers.
The new model comes to life with the Hamilton Caliber H-10-S, the current movement of the brand supported by Swatch Group. The letter S at the end of the movement symbolizes its skeleton style design. The caliber, which is mostly visible through the perforated dial, impresses with its skeleton body, Côtes de Genève patterns, and perlage. The 25-jewels automatic movement operates at a frequency of 3Hz (21.600vph) and offers an extremely efficient power reserve of 80 hours when fully wound.
The model is accompanied by a four-piece stainless steel bracelet that is secured by a push-button release butterfly clasp. In the collection, there are four more variations of the same model that sport features such as white dial, leather strap, and rose gold PVD coating for the case.
