Hamilton expands the Khaki Navy Frogman model family, its successful representative in the diver's watch product group, with four new references.
The Khaki Navy Frogman model family is named after the American naval commandos who used the original model that inspired the collection during World War II. The experience of the brand, which specializes in military watches and supplies watches to several armed forces, goes back to the early 1940s. The model, which was produced in 1943 and offered a technology ahead of its time with its characteristic crown guard, was followed by a civilian version in 1951. The model, which took part in the adventure movie called Frogman of the same year, also finds its place among dozens of models that are the subject of the Hamilton and Hollywood connection. The successful model family, which took a journey from the dusty archive of the brand to the present day in 2016, is once again in front of its fans with four different references added to the collection today.
The new model comes with a stylish and sporty case measuring 46mm x 13.58mm. The case, which is available in stainless steel and black PVD coating options, is accompanied by a screw-down crown protected by a bridge-type guard and a solid case back with a diving mask illustration. On the front of the case is a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating surrounded by a unidirectional diver bezel. The case, which draws attention with its bold design, is water-resistant to 300 meters.
All versions in the collection host the same type of dial. Emphasizing both the retro and tool watch features of the design with its matte and grainy black background, the dial is accompanied by Super-LumiNOVA phosphorus-filled wide indexes and thick hands. The dial, which is supported both functionally and visually with orange accents, does not have a date window this time.
The new models work with the Caliber H-10, designed and produced by the Swatch Group, to which the brand is affiliated. While the Powermatic80-based movement changes the standards of entry-level Swiss mechanics with its 80-hour power reserve, it also includes high-tech components such as the Nivachron balance spring.
Sporty models are complemented by rubber straps with black, gray, and green alternatives, as well as a stainless steel bracelet option. The reference information about the new models is as follows;
