Known as the "King of Diamonds" throughout his life, Harry Winston was famous not only for collecting the rarest of precious stones but also for his style of setting them. Inspired by nature, Winston believed that the design should be identified with precious stones, attracting attention to the secret setting method, giving the impression that the stones were floating freely. The clusters of precious stones, reminiscent of its vibrant flower bouquets, have become the symbol of the brand over time.

Opal is a magical stone that sets itself apart from the others with its unique color bursts. The name of the stone is derived from the word 'opallios', which means 'seeing color change' in Greek. Opal is formed when the silica coming out of the ground in areas with heavy rainfall seeps through the rock cracks. The silica precipitate left behind when the water evaporates creates millions of unique silica spheres. By breaking on these spheres, the light creates the color spree that we know. This makes the opal different from the precious stones whose surface must be shaped to show their colors. In the world of jewelry, opal is often cut and polished into a cabochon, thus emphasizing the magical feature of the stone on the curved surface. Opals in Harry Winston Premier Hypnotic Chrysanthemum also get this magic by hand-polishing them one by one before placing them on the dial.

The beauty of opal stones, which have intense blue and green tones, is enhanced with diamonds that are carefully set around them. The first layer consists of 60 baguette cut diamonds placed on an 18K gold ground. 32 marquise and 160 round cut diamonds, placed on a magnificent diamond platform, are scattered among the opals. The 'peacock' opals, available in both models, turn from night blue to neon turquoise and sea blue to bright green depending on the light. A total of 252 diamonds adorn the dial.
