Hermès from the well-established brands of the fashion world introduced the newest member of its Arceau model family.
I am sure very few of us think about the Hermès name when it comes to traditional watchmaking. This situation that we mostly come across for fashion or jewelry oriented brands is not different for Hermès either. In fact, the brand has a very good heritage with luxury watchmaking and one of the important collections in this regard is the Arceau model family which was designed by Herni d’Origny in 1978.
Arceau has an interesting design. First of all, it’s not offered in the classic H shaped case of the brand. On the contrary, the model is offered in a round case with semi-wired lugs at 12 o’clock side and virtually no lugs at 6 o’clock side.
The newest member of the collection bears similar details which reflect the DNA of collection. The new model is offered in a 41.5mm diameter case, which is quite big for Hermès standards, made of lightweight Grade 2 titanium. The case is micro-bead blasted for which provides a gun metal look with the help of titanium’s darker tone. The case is equipped with a scratch resistant sapphire crystal on the front side and it is water resistant to 30 meters.
The dial of the new model also features the signature design details of the model family. Finished in anthracite color with grainy surface, the dial sports Arabic numeral indices with slightly deformed numbers. There are red accents on the dial which add a sporty look. The dial is designed in Tri-Compax lay out for the chronograph function. The date display is located at 4:30.
The new model is powered with a self-winding movement with chronograph and date features. 37 jewels movement beats at 4Hz and offers 42 hours of power reserve when it’s fully wound.
Hermès Arceau Chrono Titane is offered on a pair of Barenia straps as natural tan and racing inspired black. The model will be available at the brand’s boutiques by February 2018 with a MSRP of 4200, 00 EUR.
