HYT, the innovative brand that carries fluid mechanics to the wrists, introduced a new version of its Soonow model, inspired by the Day of the Dead, one of the indispensable elements of Latin culture.
HYT, which has a unique fan base with its models that combine fluid mechanics with micro-engineering, inspired by the idea of "time is fluid", once again meets watch enthusiasts. The new version, based on the Soonow model inspired by the Latin culture, is limited to 8 pieces only.
The case of the new model is made of stainless steel with black PVD coating and a satin finish. The case, which was designed per the HYT architecture that we are familiar with, measuring 48.8mm in diameter and 20.8mm in height, features a highly domed sapphire crystal on the front side, and a sapphire crystal display metal case back on the rear side. The front crystal features intra-material HYT logo and engraved hour indication while the case back sports a "one of eight" decal highlighting the model’s limited production number. The model is water-resistant to 50 meters.
Even though the dial of the model uses the same design language as the previous Soonow model, it is adorned with unique details that reflect the Rainbow concept successfully. A blue-purple tone is used on anodized titanium on the base of the skull figure. 313 miniature pins made of 18K gold were added to the inner part of the skull. The outer part of the figure is decorated with 668 stones lined like a Rainbow. A total of 4.73-carat sapphire, amethyst, and tsavorite stones are used, and 14 color variations connected by gradient transitions are included.
In the dial layout, the second disk is located on the left eye, and the power reserve indicator is located on the right eye. Super-LumiNova® phosphor material is applied to the outer part of the eyes in red and blue colors. The same material was used in orange on the nose and blue in the mouth. While 18K gold was used for the tooth part of the skull figure, the bright yellow colored Super-LumiNova® was preferred at the bottom of the glass tube. Borosilicate glass tubes, which have become more like a symbol of the brand, are designed to create contours of the skull figure following the concept. Blue is used for the liquid that allows the hours to be displayed.
The model is powered by a manufacture hand-wound movement. 35-jewels movement beats at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph) and offers a power reserve of 65 hours when fully wound. Equipped with the brand’s patented “micro-fluidic module”, the movement features hand beveled and Côtes de Genève motif applied bridges.
HYT Soonow Instant Rainbow Ref. H02513 comes on a black rubber strap that is secured by a black PVD coated titanium folding buckle. The MSRP of the model is CHF 105'000.
