Big Pilot's Watch, one of the first designs that come to mind when it comes to classic pilot's watch, has been decorating the catalogs of the Schaffhausen brand since 2002. The model family, which has recently acquired a 43mm version, says hello to a new reference equipped with the chronograph complication. The stylish model added to the collection draws attention with the Le Petit Prince theme, as well as the monopusher chronograph function, which is a nice match with the retro character of the product group.
The new model comes with a classic Big Pilot type case designed with a diameter of 46.2mm and a height of 14.6mm. On the front of the wide case, there is a sapphire crystal that resists scratches as well as sudden pressure changes. The case, which also has a sapphire crystal partitioned steel cover on the back, sports an onion-shaped winding with an integrated pusher that controls all the functions of the model. The case, which has become an icon with its design, is waterproof up to 60 meters.
The dial, designed in a blue tone in line with the Le Petit Prince theme, hosts chronograph counters in a vertical Bi-Compax layout. The dial, which also has a date window at 3 o'clock, features Super-LumiNOVA applied Arabic numeral indices and thick hands.
Inside the new model is the manufacture Caliber 59365. The hand-wound movement includes hours, minutes, central seconds, date, and monopusher chronograph features. The elegant caliber, enjoyable through the sapphire crystal case back, offers an efficient power reserve of 192 hours when fully wound.
The model is available with a double-staple calf leather strap an IWC signed folding buckle, which we are familiar with from the other versions in the collection. Limited to a span of 500 units only, the MSRP for the new model is 17,200 EUR.
