IWC introduced the new Perpetual Calendar model of the cult Big Pilot's series that comes to mind when it comes to pilot's watches.
The perpetual calendar complication, which has been included in the Big Pilot's model since 2006, draws attention with its user-friendly design.
The new model comes in a case measuring 46.2mm in diameter and 15.4mm in height. The stainless steel case, equipped with a double AR-coated sapphire crystal on the front and a sapphire crystal display case back at the rear, features a dome-shaped screw-in winding crown, one of the symbol features of the model family. The case can withstand water pressure up to 60 meters.
The model is accompanied by a blue background dial. The dial, which successfully utilizes the wide-diameter advantage of the Big Pilot's model family, is appreciated for its non-complex and easy-to-read design. The date display and power reserve are located at 3 o'clock, and the month indicator is at 6 o'clock. The day of the week and the second hand share the sub-dial at 9 o'clock. The double moon phase indicator at 12 o'clock accurately reflects the moon phase in the northern and southern hemispheres, and it only needs to be corrected once in 577.5 years.
The new model is brought to life by the Caliber 52615, designed and manufactured by IWC. The automatic movement, which operates at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph), offers a full 7-day (168 hours) power reserve thanks to its Pellaton winding system and twin barrels.
