IWC, one of the first names to come to mind when it gets to pilot watches, introduced the IWC Pilot’s Watch Mark XVIII Special Edition model designed to commemorate the Laureus World Sports Awards event held in Monaco.
The new model comes in a black ceramic case measuring 41mm in diameter. The case is equipped with a anti-reflective coated scratch resistant sapphire crystal on the front face and solid caseback engraved with a motif related to the dedicated event. The case is water resistant to 60 meters.
The model features a sunray blue dial which is a signature detail of IWC’s Laureus Edition timepieces. The dial sports large Arabic hour markers, white Super LumiNOVA filled hands and a date window at 3 o’clock. The model is limited to a span of 1500 units only.
The new model ticks with the brand’s in-house Caliber Ref. 35111. Self-winding movement beats at 4Hz and offers a 42 hour power reserve when fully wound. The movement is guarded by a soft-iron inner case top protect it against magnetic fields.
