IWC Portugieser Hand-Wound MonoPusher Edition Laureus Sport for Good (Ref. IW515301)

IWC is under the spotlight with its 14th model for the Laureus Sport for Good organization, which puts sports at its center to help children and young people overcome violence, discrimination, and disadvantages in their lives.

Continuing its long-term support, IWC contributes again to this meaningful organization with a blue-themed model this year. This time, however, we do not have the blue dial version of a model currently in the product line, but a brand new member of the Portugieser family.

The new model comes in a stainless steel case measuring 46mm in diameter and 13.9mm in height. The front of the case, which displays a bold presence on the wrist with its thin bezel as well as its wide diameter, is a box-type sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides. The case, which is resistant to water pressure up to 30 meters, is accompanied by a push-button winding crown that operates the MonoPusher chronograph feature of the model and the Laureus Sport for Good embossed case back.

As with all Laureus Sport for Good themed models, the IWC Portugieser Hand-Wound MonoPusher carries a blue dial with a sunray pattern. The dial is accompanied by rhodium-plated large numeral hour markers and leaf-shaped hands, which are typical of the Portugieser model family. Thanks to the wide diameter of the dial, all indicators regarding the model's functions can be read quickly and clearly. The date display, designed with a dark blue disc, is located at 3 o'clock. The power reserve indicator, prepared in the form of a horizontal crescent, stands out at 9 o'clock. The minute counter of the chronograph feature is located at 12 o'clock, while the small seconds counter is at 6 o'clock.

The model includes the manufacture movement Caliber 59360. This exclusive manual winding movement, which we have seen only in the Portofino model family so far, has 36 jewels, operates at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph), and offers an excellent power reserve of 8 days (192 hours) when fully wound. The movement, which has a MonoPusher chronograph feature controlled by the button on the crown in addition to its hour, minute, small seconds, and date features, cannot be enjoyed due to the closed case back.
