Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra-Thin Tourbillon Moon (Ref. Q1692410)

Jaeger-LeCoultre, one of the connoisseurs of traditional luxury watchmaking, brings together the moon phase and Tourbillon functions together with the peripheral jumping date feature in its new Master Ultra-Thin Tourbillon Moon model.

The new model comes in a case measuring 41.5mm x 12.10mm. Sapphire crystals adorn the front and back of the mirror-polished 18K Le Grand Rose gold case. The case, which is accompanied by the JLC signed winding crown as well as a recessed pusher on the side, can withstand water pressure up to 5 bars / 50 meters.

The dial of the model has an eggshell-colored background. On the outside of the dial, which hosts Dauphine style hour markers and hands made of 18K Le Grand Rose gold, is a scale for the pointer-style date display. The astronomical complication, in the upper half of the dial, displays the northern hemisphere moon phases with a deep blue sky scattered with stars. Surrounding this indicator is a ring with applied southern hemisphere moon phases on the left and the Age of the Moon on the right, each indicated by a double-ended hand. On the lower half of the dial, there is the Tourbillon escapement that completes one full rotation in 60 seconds.

The new model is powered by the in-house Jaeger-LeCoultre Caliber 983. The self-winding movement, which hosts hours, minutes, seconds, peripheral ‘jumping’ date (from the 15th to the 16th), tourbillon as well as moon phases in both Hemispheres and age-of-moon indicator, beats at a frequency of 4Hz (28.2800vph) and offers a 45-hour power reserve when fully wound. In addition to the operating frequency that can be considered high for a Tourbillon, the caliber is wound by a perforated, full-size solid gold rotor instead of a micro-rotor and is enjoyed through the sapphire crystal display case back.
