The dynamic collaboration between Omega and Alinghi is crowned by the Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon ALINGHI model.
The partnership between Omega and two-time America’s Cup champion sailing team Alinghi represents Swiss precision, innovation, and pioneering spirit. Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon Alinghi is the new product of this sailing collaboration that shows the values and qualities shared by the two partners. As explained by Raynald Aeschlimann, President, and CEO of OMEGA, “The new watch is about two great Swiss brands combining their passion for innovation and sailing. To match ALINGHI’s state-of-the-art boat creation, we’ve harnessed some truly impressive technology, along with the best materials and a very original design concept.”
If the case is to fly on the water - America’s Cup goers have understood what I mean - we can say that Speedmaster is a “very suitable choice”. One of the remarkable features of the Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon Alinghi is the skillfully decorated Caliber 1865. With its slimmer and lighter features, the movement is very suitable for sailors. During the development process of Caliber 1866, the brand was inspired by Alinghi's new catamaran, TF35, and laser engraved the honeycomb pattern similar to the interior of the boat's carbon body.
Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon Alinghi model features black and red colors. On the scale matching the Alinghi logo, red represents passion and, black represents technology. The colors are evident everywhere, from the perforated strap to the 44.25mm black zirconium oxide ceramic case. The red logo of Alinghi adorns the dial and the pusher at 2 o'clock.
Collaborating in 2019, Omega and Alinghi celebrated the GC32 championship and D35 Trophy victory so far.
