Introduced at this year’s SIHH exhibition, Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Chronograph World Timer from the new Polaris Collection is the guest of our Hands On corner. Let’s take a close look at the new model that attracts attention with being the most complicated model of the new collection.
Well, I guess we wouldn’t be exaggerating if we said “Jaeger-LeCoultre stole the show at SIHH 2018”. The new Polaris Collection, which we shared a detailed article about before, was highly claimed not only by the watch enthusiasts but the authorities as well.
The new model is offered in a Titanium case measuring 44mm x 12.5mm. Thanks to the lightweight structure of Titanium, the case is comfortable enough to be worn on a daily routine. The crown for the world timer function rests at 10 o’clock while the chronograph pushers and the regular winding crown are located at the right side of the case.
The model is water resistant to 100 meters which is quite a sufficient rating for daily use. Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Chronograph World Timer comes on a leather strap but by adding a rubber or a NATO strap, the model can be enjoyed while swimming as well.
With the world timer and chronograph functions in the foreground, the model comes with two different dial options. There is also a black option as an alternative to the blue dial that we have here for review.
The dial is laid-out in Bi-Compax chronograph style with the city names are written on a chapter ring around it. The dial is also equipped with a day/night indicator as well. All indices and hands are white Super LumiNOVA applied for improved legibility at dark. Thanks to Jaeger-LeCoultre’s expertise in designing complication timepieces, the dial offers utmost legibility without being too busy.
However, if I had the possibility to make an addition to this model I think I would like a date display. I think that such a model that features functions like world time and day/night indicator should have included a date display as well.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Kronograf Dünya Zamanlayıcı için MSRP 14,299 EURO’dur.
