Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Date Limited Edition (Ref. Q9068681)

The Swiss luxury watchmaker Jaeger-LeCoultre has designed a new version of the Polaris Date for the North American market. Featuring a charming blue dial, the new Polaris Date Limited Edition stands out easily among its black dial siblings.

The Polaris Collection is a product line that combines elegance with sporty elements, which has become the signature of Jaeger-LeCoultre. There are other blue dial models in the Polaris Collection, but the blue theme of this new model, limited to a span of 800 units only, is applied distinctively among the other ones. The date display and hour markers that are slightly larger forms a uniform image by combining trapezoidal shapes with large numbers. The Polaris Date Limited Edition, which is inspired by the 1970’s ‘different’ Polaris II, doesn’t compromise elegance while being sporty.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Date Limited Edition comes in a 42mm diameter stainless steel case. The movement is covered by a solid stainless steel case back that is screwed into the case. On the side, there are two winding crowns, one for the inner bezel and the other for adjusting the time and date functions. The sporty model is water-resistant to 200 meters.

The watch’s dial consists of three parts. The center disc is decorated with a light blue gradient background and sunbeam pattern. The disc is followed by another sector with a grainy texture that changes from deep turquoise to dark blue featuring hour markers. At the far end is the uni-directional inner bezel with a 60-minute scale. The bezel fits nicely with the dial thanks to its dark blue color.

The remaining features of the dial offers a faithful image with the collection’s overall design language with its beige Super-LumiNova phosphor-filled Arabic numbers and trapezoid-shaped markers. The date window is located at 3 o’clock and the function is read from the white background date disc.
