The French Open Tennis Tournament (Roland Garros) and Longines celebrate the 10th anniversary of their brand partnership this year. During this time, Longines produced special models for the Roland Garros and announced two new models this year, men and women. The guest of our Hands On corner was the ladies version with the Ref. Before moving on to the review, I would like to talk about the successful tennis player Rafael Nadal who has dominated the Roland Garros since 2005. The legendary player has lifted the Roland Garros Cup 10th time including this year. The winner of the ladies tournament was the successful Latvian tennis player Jelena Ostapenko.

Longines has been the Official Partner and Time keeper of the Roland Garros Tournament since 2007. Following the Conquest 1 / 100th Roland Garros Chronograph model, which was designed as a result of this prestigious brand partnership and was introduced to watch enthusiasts in 2015, the brand introduced two new models designed exclusively for the occasion.

Longines Conquest Roland Garros Ladies is offered in a stainless steel case measuring 36mm in diameter. The case, which shares the same design details with the previous versions, attracts attention with its relatively higher water resistance rating as 300 meters considering its style. On the front side of the case is a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective coating, while the rear side is a solid stainless steel caseback with the Roland Garros logo.

The details that refer to Roland Garros, who gave its name to the model continues on the dial as well. Designed in the same color as the ground floor which the tournament is played on, the orange chronograph hands are accompanied by a gray SunBurst patterned surface and chronograph sub dials finished in white. The date display is at the 4 o’clock position of the dial. Although the hour markers are applied with SuperLuminova, the hands do not have any phosphor material. As a result of this strange situation, the legibility of the dial in dark is weak.
