An addition to the models celebrating the 2024 Chinese New Year comes from Longines. The long-established brand crowned this special occasion with a limited model added to the Flagship Heritage Moonphase model family.
Chinese New Year provides the perfect theme for many watch brands to release a special model adorned with one of the twelve animals of the Chinese Star Calendar. This year, Longines was added to the list of models dedicated to this interesting theme. The locomotive name of the watch industry joins the group with a limited edition of 888 pieces of the Flagship Heritage model, equipped with a moon phase feature. Flagship Heritage, which is only available for sale in Asia, draws attention with its Eastern red dial with gold accents and the dragon head figure depicted on the case back.
The new model comes with a stainless steel case designed with a diameter of 38mm and a thickness of 12.40mm. The elegant case, where matte and glossy surfaces are used together, has sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective coating on the front, and a solid cover with a dragon head figure on the back.
The slightly dome-shaped dial that accompanies the model dazzles with its gradient red background. The stylish dial, where gold hands and applique indices show the time, is accompanied by a moon phase indicator and pointer-style date indicator at 6 o'clock.
The thematic model is powered by the Caliber L899.5 movement. ETA A31.L91-based automatic movement operates at a frequency of 25,200vph and offers 72 hours/3 days power reserve when fully wound.
The model, limited to only 888 pieces, is complemented by a black alligator leather strap and a pin-type steel buckle. The list price for the model offered for sale within Asian borders is EUR 3,250.
