Longines Master Collection Power Reserve (Ref. L2.908.4.92.0)

Longines, leaving the year 2020 behind with successful new models, is under our spotlight with the Master Collection once again, which brings together the classic design elements of the brand. The model we selected for review draws attention with its traditional style as well as its power reserve indicator complication.

I think there is no need to explain once again about Longines' success in adapting classical designs to modern times. Longines, introducing brilliant Heritage models one after another, set the standards of this trend with its successful models and won the watch lovers' hearts.

The model we selected for review (Ref. L2.908.4.92.0) is in the Master Collection product line, which consists of models with traditional design details of the brand.

The model comes in a 40mm diameter case, all made of glossy surfaces. The case, which offers a solid presence on the wrist with its short but thick lugs and a curved bezel, is made of stainless steel. The case, with scratch-resistant sapphire crystals on both sides, can withstand water up to 30 meters.

The dial of the model is home to a cobalt blue background. Baton applique markers and leaf-style hands accompany the dial, which is animated with a sunray pattern. Easily legible with the minute scale on the outside, the dial has a date window at 3 o'clock. The power reserve indicator, resembling a rotor with its shape, is located at 6 o'clock. The complication, which we are familiar with from models equipped with a hand-wound movement, works very well, especially for users with multiple watches.

The stylish model works with the automatic Caliber L602 movement. The automatic movement oscillates at a frequency of 4Hz (28800vph) and offers 42 hours of power reserve when fully wound. The caliber, which offers modest decoration suitable for the price segment, is installed with a Longines signed rotor and can be viewed through the sapphire partitioned case back.
