Although the global pandemic, which has caused the most extreme quarantine practices that mankind has experienced in the modern age in the last two years, still continues, the concept of travel is slowly returning to its former state. GMT, which is perhaps one of the most usable complications of luxury watchmaking, seems to regain its former importance. The new Montblanc 1858 GMT Automatic Date collection impresses via its design that combines the second time zone feature with the sporty theme.

The stylish model family comes with a 42mm diameter and 11mm thick case. Highlighting the versatile aspect of the model with its elegant and sporty dimensions, the case is made of stainless steel. Equipped with a fixed 24-hour bezel, Montblanc signed crown, sapphire crystal, and 3D laser-engraved titanium cover, the case is waterproof up to 100 meters.

Where most GMT watches show the second time zone with an additional hand, the new Montblanc 1858 GMT model offers the GMT indicator without hands in a very intuitive and highly legible way.

This unique system shows the second time zone with a moving red square on the outside of the dial. This red square is positioned next to the fixed black or blue anodized aluminum bezel that displays the 24-hour clock. Thus, the user can quickly understand whether it is day or night in the second time zone. Another interesting feature of this system is that half-hours are displayed with a red rectangle and hours with a full red square. The functional dial design is offered to the user in sunray patterned blue and black color options.
