Montblanc introduced the new version of its Summit smartwatch model. Equipped with the recently released Snapdragon Wear 3100 processor, Summit 2 attracts attention with its new features as well as its relatively compact 42mm diameter case.
The competition between the smart watch models that have further strengthened their position in the watch industry in the last few years, continues in full flow. Montblanc, one of the first luxury watch brands in this modern product group, aims to gather the technology enthusiasts and watch aficionados under the same roof once again with its new Summit 2 model.
The original Summit model introduced by the well-established brand for the first time in 2015. The model was especially appreciated for its user-friendly interface and design that has traces of Montblanc DNA. Equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor, the model came to life with the Android OS Wear 2.0. Another feature of Summit 1 was its 46mm diameter case.
Summit 2 is a modern model that is equipped with high-tech features that eliminate the weaknesses of its predecessor, Summit 1. First of all, the new model is powered by the new generation processor Snapdragon Wear 3100. Thanks to the modern chipset, a full-day battery life is ensured in smart watch mode. It is also possible to have a 3 to 5-day battery life in time-only mode.
Summit 2 hosts many useful applications that can be expected from a modern smart watch. Timeshifter and Travel Info applications are two of the most notable in this application group. Based on the sleep habits and the flight calendars of the traveling users, the application offers recommendations to minimize the Jet Lag. Sounds like a perfect app for the frequent travelers. Travel Info on the other hand seems to attract the attention of tourists particularly with the restaurant and hotel recommendations given by geographic location. The specially designed Running Coach for the fitness enthusiasts and the voice command translator function are among the other interesting features of the new model.
Another key feature of the model is the new case measuring 42mm in diameter. It is not difficult to guess that the model is much more comfortable thanks to this new case designed to replace the 46mm diameter case used in the Summit 1 model. . The 14.4mm thick case is available in stainless steel, black DLC-coated steel, two-tone steel and gold, as well as titanium, combined with 11 strap options including calfskin, steel “Milanese” mesh, rubber and nylon.
Summit 2 has a 1.2 inch, 390 x 390 pixel display covered by a slightly domed sapphire crystal. There are a pair of pushers added on the new case which can be used to adjust settings without touching the screen. There are a number of watch face alternatives installed, including the classic Montblanc designs.
The new Summit 2 Collection is getting ready to hit the stores with MSRPs ranging from € 970 to € 1200.
