Montblanc, bringing new excitement to the sector with its entirely renewed product line introduced at the SIHH 2017 exhibition, made a name for itself with its new TimeWalker collection, inspired by the old car races.

The new TimeWalker collection features a wide selection of products ranging from classic three-hand models to timepieces like chronographs measuring up to 1 / 1000th of a second and an Exotourbillon complicated model. The Montblanc TimeWalker Chronograph, which also attracts attention with its price tag beside its beautiful design, is under the spotlight today.

Montblanc, which aimed to create a sports chronograph with a price tag under $ 5,000, presented its new TimeWalker Chronograph model among other novelties and received a positive feedback from the watch aficionados as well as authorities. Let’s take a closer look at the model that was designed especially for the young customers who define their selves with the Montblanc spirit and quality.

"Let’s not forget that the advertising work done with Hugh Jackman had a very good effect on the new TimeWalker Collection."

The new model is offered in a stainless steel bezel measuring 43mm in diameter and 15.2mm thickness. The satin brushed case is accompanied with a black ceramic bezel and a set of chronograph pushers/winding crown which creates a nice and sporty contrast. The case is water resistant to 100 meters. Both sides of the case feature scratch resistant sapphire crystals.

“The lugs feature a nice detail inspired by the front grille of a classic race car.”

There are two different dial options offered by the timepiece as black or silver. My favorite is the silver version (which I have here for review) due to its contrasting color palette and sun-burst style dial. The dial features three sub-counters laid out in typical Tri-Compax style at 12-6-9 o’clock positions. The Montblanc logo is applied on the sub-counter placed at 9 o’clock. The dial sports a combination of baton and Arabic numeral indices.

The model is powered by the Caliber Ref. MB.25.07. Sellita SW500 based self-winding movement beats at 4Hz and offers 46 hours of power reserve when fully wound. The movement can be enjoyed through the smoked sapphire crystal display caseback.

The Montblanc TimeWalker Chronograph is available in three different strap/bracelet options: stainless steel bracelet, black leather and black rubber. My vote goes to the perforated racing black leather strap which I think suits best with the overall design of the model.

I am truly impressed by the model that I did not have the opportunity to see in person at the SIHH 2017 exhibition, thanks to its beautiful design details and amazing price VS performance ratio. Compared to similarly priced Swiss made sport chronographs, I strongly suggest anyone to give Montblanc TimeWalker Chronograph a try before deciding on their new timepiece.
