The 8th edition of the Wheels and Waves festival in Biarritz, France last week, hosted a special model presentation by Breitling, one of the sponsors of the festival. The five-day festival, sponsored by major brands such as BMW, Honda and Moto Guzzi, brought together action-lovers who made motorcycles, surfing and skateboarding a lifestyle.
Breitling is involved in surfing, cinema, and exploration to attract the attention of people interested in different areas. After Norton, Bentley and ‘Surfer Squad, Breitling seems to be a hard-working collaborator for the Wheels and Waves festival as well.
Premier B01 is not a brand new model family. The brand has Premier 01 versions designed specifically for collaborations with Bentley and Norton. The model introduced in the festival differs from other models with its dials and the plate detail on the left side of the case, which the name of the brand is engraved.
The model comes with a 42mm diameter case available in two versions: stainless steel and 18K red gold. The movement can be enjoyed through the sapphire crystal display case backs. Both models are limited editions as stated on their case backs with inscriptions “ONE OF 100” for the 18K red gold one and “ONE OF 500” for the stainless steel one.
The anthracite dial is adorned with gold hands and hour markers as well as a bright red central second hand. The white inner bezel has a black/red tachymeter scale. The black sub-dials at 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock create stylish contrast.
The models are powered by Breitling’s flagship automatic movement, Caliber 01, providing 70 hours of power reserve when fully wound.
18K red gold model (Ref. RB0118A31B1X1) comes on a brown nubuck strap with pin buckle while the stainless steel version comes with the same strap and a pair of buckle options as folding buckle (Ref. AB0118A31B1X2) and pin buckle (Ref. AB0118A31B1X1).
