Nomos, which we consider to be one of the most successful brands of Baselworld 2017, has been highly appreciated by the vibrant dial colors added to the Ahoi Neomatik series. Here we are with the new Ahoi Neomatik series photographed by our Emre Şişman at the brand’s exhibition booth.
Nomos Ahoi Neomatik models are offered in full mirror polished stainless steel cases measuring 36.3mm in diameter. With a total height of 9.55mm, the watch wears quite comfortably on the wrist. Besides the compact dimensions, the long lug design also makes the watch pretty comfortable to wear. The lug size is 18mm.
The case features the classic Nomos design which is always simple but functional. However, the crown guards do not fit the bill with their oversized look. When you look at the fairly slim bezel, the obvious thickness is immediately noticeable. Nomos Ahoi Neomatik series offers 20ATM / 200M water pressure resistance. If you are a user like me who barely takes off his watch, Ahoi Neomatik is a perfect watch for you. The case sports scratch resistant sapphire crystals on both sides.
The dial design of the Ahoi Neomatik series also carries typical Nomos lines. The dial sports Arabic numeral and baton hour markers at the same time. The application area for ??SuperLuminova phosphorus material is slightly lower due to the fact that the hands and hour markers are thinner. As a result of this, you should not expect performance of a diver watch for readability in dark environments. The dial has a small seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock. The second hand is designed in the same color as Neomatik writing. While it adds a nice sporty look, the second hand and Neomatik writing are barely noticeable on the red dial version.
The Ahoi Neomatik Series is powered with the brand’s Caliber Ref. DUW 3001. The self-winding movement features the brand’s patented Swing System and offers 42 hours of power reserve when fully wound. The movement is visible through the sapphire display caseback.
The models are offered with light gray textile straps. However, there is also a dark blue strap made of the same material with the others that can be ordered if desired. The strap is secured with a stainless steel tang buckle.
Nomos Ahoi Neomatik models are offered with a sales price of 3160, 00 EUR which puts them in to the top level considering the brand’s general product line. Ahoi Neomatik models are perfect options for the watch aficionados who would like to have a solid in-house movement watch with vivid dial colors or the beginners who would like to jump in to the world of mechanical watches with fun to wear timepieces instead of old school classics.
