NOMOS Glashütte continues its support for Nobel Prize-winning organization Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières) with a pair of new limited edition models.

NOMOS Glashütte, one of the boutique German brands of the watch industry, is among the long-standing supporters of the Nobel Prize-winning organization Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières). The brand, which continues its support to the organization through its German section (Ärzte ohne Grenzen), feels the right proud of producing 8,000 watches up to now to raise funds for this meaningful organization.

Doctors Without Borders, with over 41,000 employees around the globe, continues their activities with the belief that every individual should reach qualified health services regardless of the physical boundaries on maps, regardless of their language, religion, race, gender and political views. From the day it was founded, the organization continues to provide humanitarian medical assistance to communities suffering from fires, natural disasters, epidemics and lack of proper healthcare.

This collaboration was scheduled to end in 2018, but both NOMOS has decided to continue this worthwhile project and help further by offering limited edition timepieces.

For the new models, Tangente Neomatic is chosen from the brand’s popular model platforms. With two alternatives designed in 38.5mm x 7.2mm or 35mm x 6.9mm dimensions, the case is made of stainless steel. The case is equipped with an anti-glare coated scratch resistant sapphire crystal on the front side and a sapphire crystal display case back at the rear side. Water resistance rating is limited to 50 meters / 5 bars for both two models.

The new models come with galvanized and white/metallic silver plated dials. The dials, which are accompanied with Arabic numeral and baton indexes as well as oxidized black hands, feature details like Ärzte ohne Grenzenlettering inscription at 6 o’clock and red 12 numeral that refer to the dedicated organization.

Both models are powered by the German automatic NOMOS in-house Caliber DUW 3001 with 27 jewels, which beats at a frequency of 4Hz (28,800vph) and offers a power reserve of 43 hours when fully wound. Equipped with the NOMOS swing system, a tempered blue balance spring and a Glashütte three-quarter plate, the movement is nicely decorated with blue screws, rhodium-plated surfaces with Glashütte ribbing and NOMOS perlage.

The new models are offered on stainless steel bracelets secured by NOMOS signed folding clasps.

Each model is limited to 250 units only with MSRPs as EUR 2740.00 and EUR 2880.00 with NOMOS Glashütte and its retailers sending 250 EUR from each limited edition Tangente sold directly to those in need.
