Omega has announced two new models designed for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, celebrating its official timekeeper position. The new versions from the Aqua Terra model family draw attention with their 18K yellow gold themes.
The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, which were postponed due to the Covid-19 epidemic that affected the whole world last year, are being held this year. Omega, who has been the official timekeeper of the organization this year, as it has been for many years, adds two new versions to the models it has prepared for this important competition.
The models in the Aqua Terra collection, which was presented to watch enthusiasts with their recently renewed faces, draw attention with their 18K gold cases. The cases, produced in two different sizes as 41mm and 38mm, refer to the gold medal, which symbolizes the highest success in the Olympic Games.
Both models sport a patterned dark blue dial and components designed in yellow gold tone. The hands and indices, which draw attention with their designs unique to the Aqua Terra model family, are accompanied by a date window at 6 o'clock.
The new models are brought to life by automatic movements approved by METAS for their outstanding achievements in accuracy and durability. Powering the 38mm version, Caliber 8801 provides 55 hours of power reserve when fully wound, while the Caliber 8901 at the heart of the 41mm version offers 60 hours of power reserve when fully wound. The movements, whose balance bridges and oscillating rotors are made of 18K Sedna Gold alloy, can be viewed through the sapphire crystal display case backs adorned with the Tokyo 2020 logo.
Both models are available with dark blue leather straps designed in harmony with the dial.
