As we mentioned before in our previous articles, many major brands focus on their ladies’ collections being introduced at the Baselworld and SIHH trade shows more than ever before especially for the past two years. Omega Trésor Ladies’ Collection, which was launched at Baselworld 2017, is a perfect example for this new trend.
In fact, De Ville Trésor is not a new model family in Omega. However, the Omega Trésor Ladies’ Collection is a completely new product line.
“Many of the brands operating in the luxury segment are going with reducing diameters, creating feminine color combinations and adding precious stones to existing men’s’ models while designing ladies’ timepieces. Omega Trésor Ladies’ Collection, on the other hand, is distinguished by the fact that it is a collection designed originally for women.”
The new collection is offered in two case options measuring 36 and 39mm in diameter. The model we have here is the Ref. Model 428.58.36.60.13.001 from the 36mm model family.
The model comes in a gracefully designed case measuring 36mm in diameter and 8.85mm in height. Made of Omega’s patented pink gold alloy 18K Sedna ™ Gold, the case is equipped with an inner anti-reflective treated scratch resistant sapphire crystal on the front side. The bezel is partially gem-set with diamonds in accordance with the simple but elegant design of the model. The winding crown is decorated with red details applied by HyCeram technique and a single diamond.
The case is water resistant to 30 meters / 3 bars. The lug width is 18mm. The attention for the details is also visible at the back of the case. Solid 18K Sedna ™ Gold case back is finished in full mirror style with a pattern composed of intersecting circles.
The most important factor for me in choosing this model for the review was the dial. Accompanied with elongated Roman numeral indices and tapered hands, the dial is finished in beautiful brown tone that matches perfectly with the 18K Sedna ™ Gold’s pinkish color. The only disadvantage of the dial is the legibility in the dark, as neither the hour markers nor the hands offer any phosphorus material.
Omega’s manufacture movement Caliber Ref. 4061 powers the model. The lack of a mechanical movement in the collection may look like a downside for the purist watch enthusiasts. However, the female clientele makes it more of an advantage rather than being the opposite. It is also worth noting that the caliber, which offers a battery life of 48 months, is produced with rhodium-plated components and decorated with circular Cotes de Genève motifs, like mechanical movements.
Omega Trésor Ladies’ 18K Sedna Gold (Ref. 428.58.36.60.13.001) comes with an alligator strap designed in brown tone, which is compatible with the overall color palette of the model. The strap is secured with a standard Omega signed buckle made of 18K Sedna ™ Gold alloy in line with the case.
The model is available with a MSRP of CHF 8,000. Stainless steel versions are available at CHF 4,100.
