Standing out with the social responsibility projects it supports as well as its stylish models, Oris continues this tradition in the new Big Crown ProPilot Okavango Air Rescue Limited Edition model.
The new model tributes to Okavango Air Rescue (O.A.R.), an aeromedical organization founded in Botswana in 2011 by a Swiss entrepreneur and a German doctor. Specially designed for the 10th anniversary of the organization, the model is limited to 2011 pieces, emphasizing the date of O.A.R.'s establishment.
O.A.R. is a privately owned and independently funded air service that provides quality medical care to Botswana's locals and tourists, particularly in Africa's UNESCO World Heritage Okavango Delta, which consists of grasslands, swamps, lagoons, and thousands of islands.
Oris Big Crown ProPilot Okavango Air Rescue Limited Edition comes in a 41mm diameter stainless steel case. The case, which has a curved sapphire crystal on the front and a solid and engraved metal cover on the back, is waterproof up to 100 meters. The sporty case sports a fixed bezel with a coin-edge pattern and a large Oris signed winding crown.
The new model houses a stylish dial that differs from the standard models with its texture inspired by the marsh grasses of Botswana's Okavango Delta and stands out with its vibrant green tone. Super-LumiNOVA phosphor material-filled appliqué indices and thick hands offer excellent legibility in almost any environment. The matt black second hand, which brings movement to the dial with its red tip, offers a harmonious look with the date window, which also includes a black-background disc.
The Oris Big Crown ProPilot Okavango Air Rescue Limited Edition beats by the Caliber Oris 751 movement. Based on the Sellita SW-220-1, known for its durability and reliability, the automatic movement offers 38 hours of power reserve when fully wound.
The model comes on a green textile strap. The presentation box also includes an extra leather strap. MSRP is 2'300 CHF.
