Oris, the leading representative of independent brands in the entry and mid-level segment introduced its new line of pilot watches equipped with the in-house movement Caliber 400.
Oris's experience with pilot's watches goes back a long way. The story of pilot's watches, which started in 1938 with the Big Crown, one of the brand's cult product groups, continues today with the Oris ProPilot X Caliber 400, which has made a name for itself not only with its modern and bold design but also with its in-house movement.
The model, which represents the innovative perspective brought by the brand to the analog pilot's watch concept, comes with a 39mm diameter case. The multi-piece case is made of ultra-light titanium alloy. Referring to the Tool Watch DNA of pilot's watches thanks to its micro-sandblasted surface, the front of the case features a curved sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on both sides. The fixed bezel framing the crystal again emphasizes the model's aviation theme with its turbine motif. With the help of the screw-lock crown, the case, which is resistant to 100 meters of water pressure, is equipped with a sapphire crystal display case back.
The new model is available with gray, blue, and salmon dial alternatives. While the gray dial gives the model a monochrome appearance, vibrant blue and pastel salmon tones soften the Tool Watch character and add a more versatile look to the model. The dial, which stands out with its simple design, has a date window at 6 o'clock. The phrase 5 DAYS placed close to the center also emphasizes the power reserve time of the caliber that ticks inside.
The in-house Oris Caliber 400 beats at the heart of the new collection. Working at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph), the automatic movement leaves many players in the same league behind with its 5 days/120 hours power reserve time when fully wound. The COSC-certified caliber, which also includes high-tech components such as a silicon escapement wheel, can be enjoyed through the transparent case back.
An integrated bracelet made of titanium complements the stylish model. The comfortable bracelet is fixed to the wrist with a folding clasp featuring the patented Lift system, inspired by the seat belts in airplanes.
Oris ProPilot X Caliber 400, added to the standard collection of the brand, is appreciated not only with its competitive price tag of CHF 3,900 but also with the fresh and modern perspective it brings to the pilot's watch concept.
