Oris keeps enlarging the Diver’s Watches family by adding different models to its collection. The latest release is the Heritage inspired Oris Sixty-Five Diver 42 Dark Blue.

Oris released the first version of the Diver’s Sixty-Five model last year. It was a re-issue model basically inspired by the first diver’s watch in the history of the brand launched in 1965. Due to the appealing retro aesthetics of the watch (and with the help of the growing re-issue watches trend) the model got pretty good feedback from the watch enthusiast approved by a solid sales figure. Oris reacted promptly to this positive attention and released a different version turning the single re-issue watch in to a collection. The timepiece we have here is the last addition to this collection.

However, there is an issue I would like to talk about; a re-issue watch is a modern production timepiece which is based on “a” successful or noteworthy model from the past. The first version of the Diver’s Sixty-Five was a true success in this regard and this was approved with the immediate positive feedback from the watch aficionados. On the other hand, I do not feel positive about producing different versions of this classic model as it just doesn’t fit to the idea of making re-issue timepieces. Therefore, I’d be happier to see the Oris Diver’s Sixty-Five as a single model instead of a product group.

Let’s get to the watch, shall we..? Oris Diver’s Sixty-Five 42 Dark Blue features the basic design clues with the earlier models. The stainless steel case has a 42mm diameter. The AR coated sapphire crystal on the front side is designed in a domed form to match with the retro character of the watch.

The solid caseback sports a beautiful Oris logo from 1965 which fits the retro mood nicely. The timepiece is WR100M rated which is quite efficient for daily use light water activities as well.

The dial itself is also domed like the sapphire crystal. The indices and hands are filled with retro color SuperLuminova. The dial is finished in a beautiful dark blue tone as stated in the name.

Oris Diver’s Sixty-Five 42 Dark Blue is powered by the Sellita SW200-1 based Caliber 733 automatic movement. 26 jewelled movement beats at 28800vph and offers 38h power reserve when fully wound.

With the addition of the dark blue dial, Oris also sports a couple of strap alternatives with the watch as leather and a Nato strap.

The watch is served in the Heritage Concept box and the MSRP starts with 1900CHF.
