Parmigiani, announced a new unique edition model for its Toric Collection that was added to brand’s product line in 2017.
The Toric Collection, which was presented to the appreciation of the watch enthusiasts for the first time in SIHH 2017, quickly became one of the popular model families of the Parmigiani product group with the positive feedback it received from watch aficionados, especially the loyal fan base of the brand. The collection, which was enriched with different alternatives ranging from simple models to traditional complications, gained another new member prior to the upcoming SIHH 2019.
Parmigiani Fleurier Toric Capitole is the updated version of the unique model that was introduced silently at the SIHH last year. Functionally sharing the same architecture with its predecessor, the model has been updated with a new dial and a new color combination.
The model is offered in an 18K pink gold case measuring 45mm in diameter and 12.1mm in height. Decorated with gadroons and knurling, signature Toric style case is equipped with scratch resistant sapphire crystals on both sides and is water resistant to 30 meters / 3 bars.
The new model features a solid pink gold dial decorated with classic Guilloché patterns. However, the unique design of the dial is not all about materials and decorations only. Time display method is also unique. A combination of planetary disks is employed instead of hands for time display in the dial. There is a rotary system directly attached to the hour wheel comprising three planetary gears with four arms. The time is displayed in this system though a 60-minute scale located at the upper half of the dial.
Parmigiani Fleurier Toric Capitole’s interesting features are not limited to the dial, of course. The model is equipped with Minute Repeater complication which is operated by a lever on the left side of the case. In order to have a loud and clear tone, Parmigiani used with cathedral gongs, which are coiled twice around the movement. The model is powered by the manufacture hand-wound Caliber PF321. The movement consists of 386 individual parts and beats at a frequency of 2.5Hz / 18.000vph while offering a power reserve of 40 hours when fully wound.
There is yet no price information for the model that comes with a brown alligator leather strap (manufactured by Hermès) and 18K pink gold ardillon buckle.
