For the first time in the Swiss watchmaking history, the Swiss watchmaking giant puts the grande et petite sonnerie, minute repeater, and jumping seconds complications in the same model.
What we have here is the Nirvana of minute repeater watches. The Patek Philippe 6301P, which combines the complications: grande sonnerie (gongs per hour and quarters), petite sonnerie (gongs only at the beginning of the hour), and minute repeater (gongs for hours, quarters, and minutes after the nearest quarter) with its newly patented jumping seconds display, deserves to be among the most precious examples of high watchmaking.
The 6301P comes in a 44.8mm x 12mm case made of Grade 950 platinum, decorated with a flawless Top Wesselton diamond that we are familiar with from other platinum timepieces of the brand. The case features sapphire crystals on both sides. There is also an extra solid case back in the box-set. Ref. 6301 is not water-resistant, yet it is moisture and dust-proof.
The dial is made of 18K gold and covered with black enamel. The dial, which offers romantic details such as Breguet style numbers and leaf-shaped hands, features Super-LumiNOVA phosphor material. The dial has two power reserve indicators; one for the movement at 9 o'clock position and another for the repeater at 3 o'clock position.
The watch has six complications as grande sonnerie, petite sonnerie, minute repeater, separate power reserve indicators for the movement, and the repeater mechanism as well as jumping-seconds. The three patents as isolating the grande sonnerie from the caliber in silent mode, repeater selection mode, and unique jumping seconds indicator make the timepiece a true marvel of luxury watchmaking. The 95-jewels/ 703 pars movement, measuring 37mm x 7.5mm, beats at a frequency of 25200vph and offers a power reserve of 72 hours for watch functions and 24 hours for repeater functions. The Caliber GS 36-750 PS IRM is placed on the watch and bears the Patek Philippe seal as proof of its superior engineering, precision, and craftsmanship.
The Patek Philippe 6301P comes on a square pattern, shiny black colored alligator strap that is secured by a folding platinum buckle.
