Panerai celebrates the renovation project of the Panerai Boutique opened in Singapore in 2011 with the limited edition model PAM1177. The model, which is decorated with red details inspired by the Singapore flag, is limited to 100 units only.
For the first time in its history, Panerai is using a red winding crown on one of its models. Is it a revolutionary innovation? No, but it definitely stands out. The PAM01177 is more like the boutique version of the newly introduced PAM01133 model featuring some exclusive details. Besides, the new model is introduced to celebrate the renovation of the Panerai Boutique in Singapore.
PAM01177 has a 44mm diameter stainless steel case. The model's case form, based on the Luminor 1950 model family, is among the most sought-after designs of the brand by the watch enthusiasts for many years. Equipped with a sapphire crystal on the front side and a solid case back at the rear side, the case is water-resistant to 300 meters. On the case back, there is a lion motif, which is also the symbol of the city.
The dial, designed in sandwich-style, is prepared in dark gray with a metallic base pattern. Maximum visibility in the dark, one of the proudest features of Panerai models, is, of course, among the standards of the watch. The small second hand positioned at 9 o'clock and the central GMT hand feature red details inspired by the Singapore flag. For the first time in the brand’s history, the winding crown of the model is also finished in red.
At the heart of the PAM01177 model, the automatic Caliber 9011, which the brand has been using for many years, beats. The movement, which operates at a frequency of 4Hz (28800vph), stands out with its second-time zone feature in addition to its 3-day (72 hours) power reserve when fully wound. This feature should not be confused with the standard GMT function because the second hand on the Panerai behaves like an hour hand and completes two full rotations a day.
Another feature that immediately comes to mind when it comes to Panerai is the easy strap change system. The advantage of having a different look with each new strap is also the same with this model. Thanks to the pushers and the special strap pins placed in the lugs, it is possible to change the strap in a few seconds without requiring any special tools. The presentation box includes a dark gray calf strap and a red rubber strap.
Officine Panerai Luminor GMT ION Singapore Edition PAM01177, which will be produced in a limited span of 100 units only, is available through the Panerai Boutique in ION Orchard Mall. The list price of the watch is 13,850 SGD.
