Life is beautiful with colors. And it's hard. But not equally hard for all of us. Much more difficult for some of us. If you are discriminated against or harassed because of your sexual orientation; If you have to cope with bullying at school, at work, and even you hardly breathe, the life that is beautiful with these colors is really difficult.

While dealing with this type of bullying is heavy enough even for adults, it is sometimes unbearable for young people. That's why there is a nonprofit organization that focuses on suicide prevention efforts among young people in the LGBTQ + community; The Trevor Project.

The short film named 'Trevor', which won the Academy Award in 1994 was about the story of a 13-year-old gay boy who was rejected by his friends because of his sexual orientation, who became very lonely due to his family's inability to support him, and after the events, he tried to take his own life. When the film was decided to be broadcasted on the HBO channel in 1998, producers James Lecesne, Peggy Rajski, and Randy Stone sought to find a hotline that young viewers with similar issues with Trevor could call during the broadcast. The frustrating search led them to establish their own organizations.

Trevor Lifeline was founded with the Colin Higgins Foundation and HBO's license fee. The result is the first 'crisis and suicide prevention helpline' for LGBTQ + youth, operating 24 hours a day across the country. Trevor Project also provides teens online support, educators' and parents' guidance, and resources through its website.
