Rado adds a fashionable perspective to the industrial design concept with its black high-tech ceramic case and skeleton dial model from the True Square Automatic model family.
The stylish model comes with a 38mm X 44.2mm x 9.7mm case. The case, which offers a simple yet flowing form with its rounded edges, is produced from a high-tech black ceramic alloy. This innovative material, debuted in Rado catalogs in 1988, becomes more like the brand's signature via the Ceramica model family. Redesigned by the famous industrial designer Konstantin Grcic in 2016, Ceramica brings together this high-tech alloy, the most refined form of ceramic, with matte gray and black tones. True Square series, following the footsteps of the modern Ceramica model family, reinterprets the same design concept with a square form. Sapphire crystals serve on both sides of the case, which is produced by the injection-molding method. The case, which promises a comfortable use on the wrist not only with its smooth surface and soft lines but also with its lightness, is waterproof up to 50 meters.
The model hosts an Open Worked, a perforated dial, which can successfully accompany traditional designs as well as industrial themes. The movement that brings the model to life is partly visible through the dial, which includes components designed in black and silver tones. A pair of circular openings, one at 12 o'clock and the other at 7 o'clock, reveal the balance wheel and part of the gear assembly, respectively. There are perlage ornaments on the silvery bridges of the movement and vertical Côtes de Genève motifs on the four corners of the dial.
Inside the Rado True Square Automatic Open Heart, the Caliber C07 beats. The automatic movement, based on ETA C07.111 and designed/manufactured within the Swatch Group, to which the brand is affiliated, impresses with its 80-hour power reserve time when fully wound, as well as its silicone escapement feature.
The model, available with an MSRP of EUR 2,350, comes on a bracelet made of the same material as the case and a three-fold titanium clasp.
