Zenith, Bamford Watch Department and Mr. Porter are collaborating again for the style lovers.
One of the men’s award-winning online shopping portals, Mr. Porter, Swiss luxury watchmaker Zenith and the British watch customization workshop Bamford Watch Department re-collaborated for the El Primero Revival A384 Edge of Space Limited Edition. The watch, limited to a span of 50 units only, will be available as of November 18.
The Edge of Space is inspired by the El Primero Revival A384, as the name suggests. While designing the watch, several signature details of the brand were taken into consideration. The tachymeter scale based on the El Primero model of 1984/86, the sub-dials that tribute to the Caliber146 HP from 1970, the retro chronograph case design and the dial text font from the original A384 are among those mentioned.
The watch comes in a 37mm titanium case with sandblasted surfaces. Over the dial is a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflection coating on both sides. On the back of the case is the sapphire crystal display case back with limited edition info. The model is water-resistant to 50 meters.
The self-winding chronograph movement used for the model, Caliber El Primero 400, provides a power reserve of up to 50 hours when fully wound. The functions are central hour and minute hands, small seconds counter at 9 o’clock, central chronograph seconds hand, 12 hours totalizer at 6 o’clock, 30 minutes totalizer at 3 o’clock and the date display located between 4 and 5 o’clock. The faceted and rhodium-plated markers and hands are filled with Super-LumiNova SLN C1 phosphor material.
Born from the second collaboration, Zenith El Primero Revival A384 Edge of Space Limited Edition (Ref. 97.A384.400 / 27.C821) comes on a Cordura effect navy blue rubber strap with white stitches and a sandblasted titanium buckle to compliment the white dots in the dial.
