Roger Dubuis, one of the brands that brings together watch aficionados and motor sport enthusiasts under the same roof, introduced the latest model that has been designed in collaboration with the brand partner Italian tiremaker Pirelli. Designed exclusively for the 2018 Run to Monaco event, the new model draws attention with its unique color palette as well as its rubber strap made from race winning Pirelli tires.
Roger Dubuis, one of the first names that comes to mind when it comes to motorsport-inspired models, introduced its new limited edition model Excalibur Spider Pirelli Flying Double Tourbillon designed in collaboration with the famous Italian tire manufacturer Pirelli. The new model, which features similar specs with the Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider Pirelli Limited Edition that has been introduced at SIHH, stands out with its unique color palette.
The new model, which is included in the brand’s Excalibur Collection, comes in a 47mm black DLC finished titanium case that is adorned with red accents. The case is water resistant to 50 meters and is equipped with double anti-reflection treated scratch resistant sapphire crystals on both sides.
Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider Pirelli Flying Double Tourbillon (Ref. RDDBEX0657) features a skeleton style dial. The double flying tourbillons, which are inspired by race cars’ tachymeters, rest at 5 and 7 o’clock positions. The multi-colored power reserve indicator tributes classic racing cars with its fuel gauge look design. The black PVD coated white gold hand and rhodium coated indices are Super LumiNOVA phosphor material applied for optimum legibility. The accents are finished in red, which is among the official colors of the Pirelli.
The new model is powered by the in-house Caliber Ref. RD105SQ. Hand-wound movement is composed of 365 individual parts and approved by the Geneva Seal, which is considered one of the Swiss watch industry’s most important certifications. The movement sports double flying tourbillons and a power reserve indicator among its time keeping function and it offers a 52 hour power reserve when fully wound.
Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider Pirelli Flying Double Tourbillon (Ref. RDDBEX0657) comes on a black rubber strap that is manufactured by using race winning Pirelli Cinturato ™ tires. The strap is adorned with stitches in Pirelli red and secured by a Roger Dubuis signed folding clasp made of black DLC-plated titanium.
The new models will be limited to 8 units only which are available through Roger Dubuis boutiques. The lucky owners of this 8-piece limited edition will enjoy the privilege of being invited to high-end local Pirelli events.
