TAG Heuer is expanding its Autavia model family, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, with three new models.
Autavia, which is among the legendary model families of TAG Heuer, is a name derived from the words Auto and Aviation. The model family, which was very popular especially in the 70s, was redesigned in a retro-new style in 2019, but a version with a chronograph function was not included in the collection. This complication, which is more like a signature for Autavia, is back in the collection with new models added to the series.
The first two of the models in the new series stand out with the Flyback Chronograph feature. The new model, which has black DLC coated stainless steel and stainless steel versions, comes with a 42mm diameter case. There is a 60-minute bezel with a ceramic insert on the front of the case, with sapphire crystals on both sides. The sporty case is waterproof up to 100 meters.
The black DLC version sports a black dial. The stainless steel model, on the other hand, hosts a black sub-dial dial on a silver background. Super-LumiNOVA coated appliqué indices and wide hands provide optimum legibility in almost any environment.
The new models are brought to life by the Caliber Heuer 02 with Flyback Chronograph. The COSC certified in-house movement offers a power reserve of 80 hours when fully wound.
The third member of the collection, unlike the other two models, hosts the GMT function. The 42mm diameter case has a sapphire crystal and a two-tone 24-hour insert bezel on the front. The case, which comes with a steel case back, is waterproof up to 100 meters.
Accompanied by a blue dial with a sunray surface pattern, the model beats with the Sellita-based Caliber 7 movement. The movement, which has a second time zone feature, carries the COSC certification. TAG Heuer Autavia 60th Anniversary GMT 3 Hands(WBE511A.BA0650), the only model of the collection with GMT function, is available a metal bracelet signed by TAG Heuer. The list price is EUR 4,000.
