TAG Heuer applied the ultra-light carbon alloy, used in the Monaco Bamford Carbon and Aquaracer Carbon models, to its locomotive product line. The newly introduced collection includes the flag ship model Carrera Carbon Tourbillon Phantom.
TAG Heuer Carrera Carbon Tourbillon Phantom, which is limited to only 500 units, is built over the same platform that is also used in the Carrera Heuer-02T - still the most affordable Swiss made Tourbillon on the market in its base model configuration.
The dial is partially skeletonized with contrasting white gold placated chronograph counter chapters designed to improve legibility. The model is offered in a 45mm diameter modular case with a black-coated titanium middle and the bezel and lugs in carbon composite.
The new model is powered by the COSC-certified movement Caliber Heuer 02T. Based on the Caliber CH-80 chronograph, the movement beats at a frequency of 4Hz (28,800vph) and offers a power reserve of 65 hours as well as a Flying Tourbillon escapement. It also features an all-black finish components to match the stealth look of the model.
The other two models included in the newly announced collection are presented in cases where carbon and metal materials are used together. Both models are prepared in 43mm diameter cases featuring black-coated stainless steel middle and a carbon composite bezel.
The first version comes with rose gold-plated lugs, with the counters, hands and indices similarly gilded to match the overall look. The second version has carbon composite lugs complemented with blue accents on the dial.
Both are powered by the in-house Heuer 02 that was first unveiled in the Autavia. Heuer 02 was developed in-house at TAG Heuer’s facility in Chevenez. It is an integrated chronograph movement equipped with both a vertical clutch and column wheel, and has an efficient 80-hour power reserve.
The Carrera Carbon Heuer 02T Phantom (Ref. CAR5A8P.FC6415) is limited to 500 pieces, priced at CHF 23,100.
The Carrera Carbon Heuer 02 in black and gold (Ref. CBG2052.FT6143) is a limited edition of 350 priced at CHF 10,500.
The black-and-blue model (Ref. CBG2017.FT6143) is limited to 750 pieces, priced at CHF 8,300.
