TAG Heuer, the experienced name of sporty models, is expanding its legendary Carrera Chronograph model family with a new limited edition designed and produced exclusively for the Traditional Chinese Lunar New Year.
The latest addition to the Traditional Chinese Lunar New Year models that we are used to seeing from the brands in the Haute Horlogerie group of the Swiss watchmaking industry comes from TAG Heuer. The brand, which has written its name in the history of watchmaking with gold letters, especially with its models inspired by motorsports, is entering this small but niche area of the industry with the new limited edition Carrera Chronograph model designed and produced exclusively for the Traditional Chinese Lunar New Year. Based on the modern Carrera Chronograph platform, the model draws attention with its thematic details.
The new model comes with a 44mm diameter stainless steel case. In addition to its thick and faceted lugs, the case offers a sporty look also with its large crown and piston-style chronograph pushers. On the front of the case, there is a fixed tachymetric bezel made of black glossy ceramic and a domed beveled sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating serves. On the back of the case, there is a large red rabbit figure that symbolizes this year in the Chinese Lunar Calendar. The sporty case is resistant to water pressure up to 100 meters.
The unique details of the new model continue on the dial part after the case-back. The black dial, which is exclusively designed and produced for the model, attracts attention with its wide wave-patterned background and gold/red hands and indices prepared following the theme. The TAG Heuer logo, located at 12 o'clock on the Tri-Compax chronograph layout dial, also underlines the integrity of the design with its gold tone. The Heuer 02 80 Hours text, spread on both sides of the 6 o'clock marker, emphasizes the movement that gives life to the model.
TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph “Year of the Rabbit” takes its power from the Caliber Heuer 02 movement, which is also used in different versions in the modern Carrera Chronograph collection. The movement, which features a column wheel and vertical clutch chronograph, impresses with its 80-hour power reserve when fully wound.
The new model, which is produced with only 500 pieces, comes on a black calf leather strap with contrast stitching and a push-button folding clasp. The list price for the model is EUR 6,750.
