TAG Heuer introduced a new version of the Carrera 160 Years Silver Edition model, which was exclusively designed to celebrate the brand's 160th anniversary. The model, which is limited to only 500 pieces, draws attention with its deep blue/green dial.
TAG Heuer crowned the 160th anniversary of its establishment with the Carrera 160 Years Silver Edition model introduced last year, and this retro-inspired model was highly appreciated. Also releasing the Montreal Special Edition model sharing the same platform and, the brand brought the classic Carrera models that left their mark in the 1960s to the present day with modern technology and materials.
TAG Heuer, who does not want to limit the successful collection to only two models, introduced a new version designed in green tones, which is by far the most popular dial color of recent years.
Sharing the same platform as previous versions, the new model comes with a 39mm diameter and 15mm high stainless steel case. The case, which is sized to match the model’s vintage style, hosts a curved sapphire crystal, mimicking classic hesalite crystals. The case also features a sapphire crystal display case back and is water-resistant to 100 meters.
The dial, which is the distinguishing feature of the model, comes with a deep blue/green background. The Tri-Compax chronograph layout dial, which is decorated with the Carrera text and the classic Heuer emblem, features sub-dials decorated with snail motif.
The model beats with the manufacture Caliber Heuer 02 movement. The self-winding chronograph movement offers an effective power reserve of 80 hours when fully wound. Wound with a perforated black rotor that resembles an automobile rim, the caliber can be viewed through the sapphire crystal display case back.
The model, which is limited to 500 pieces, comes on a black alligator strap and Heuer signed folding clasp. The model will be available in TAG Heuer boutiques and on the e-commerce site of the brand as of May 11, 2021, with a list price of CHF 6,500.
