TAG Heuer is expanding its motorsports-themed Carrera model family with a new limited edition version that stands out with its red dial.
Carrera, which has been decorating TAG Heuer catalogs since 1963, has the distinction of being the brand's first motorsports-themed chronograph. Taking its name from the legendary road race held in Mexico, Carrera paves the way for Monaco and Monza, two of the other legends of TAG Heuer, with this feature. The iconic collection, which has hosted dozens of references with both modern and classical themes over time, gets a new limited edition version that stands out with its never before tried dial color.
The new model comes with a 39mm diameter and 15mm high case. The case, which pays homage to the classic Carrera models with its relatively compact dimensions, hosts completely glossy surfaces. The case, which is appreciated with its retro look, has a curved sapphire crystal, mimicking the vintage hesalite crystals, on the front, and a sapphire crystal partitioned cover on the back. The sporty case is waterproof up to 100 meters.
As I mentioned at the beginning of my article, the new model hosts a very stylish dial that has never been used in a Carrera before, with a vibrant red tone. TAG Heuer, which succeeded in bringing a new breath to the Carrera model family while following the trends with its green dial tone released last year, raises the bar one step higher with the Carrera Red Dial Limited Edition. The dial, which nods at the classic Carrera models with its Tri-Compax design, offers an unmatched integrity with having no date display.
The new model is powered by the Caliber Heuer 02 movement. Equipped with a column wheel and vertical clutch chronograph feature, the automatic movement offers a power reserve time of up to 80 hours when fully wound.
The stylish model is complemented by a crocodile leather strap designed in accordance with the dial color and a folding clasp signed by TAG Heuer. Probably due to the success of last year's green model, TAG Heuer has increased its limited production number from 500 to 600. The list price for the model, which is expected to reach sales points as of August, is EUR 6.400.
