TAG Heuer has added a new version to the models it produces in memory of Formula 1's legendary pilot Ayrton Senna. The new model, powered by a mechanical caliber this time, also bears traces of the famous pilot's iconic TAG Heuer S/EL watch.
TAG Heuer is one of the first names that come to mind when it comes to watch manufacturers which are associated with motorsports. The brand, which is among the indispensable names of challenging tracks, continues its brand partnership with the legendary Brazilian pilot Ayrton Senna, whose untimely death saddened not only F1 fans but also almost everyone. TAG Heuer, which introduced a quart-caliber model for the brand’s cult ambassador Senna as a part of 2022 novelties, greets watch lovers once again with a new addition to the collection. TAG Heuer Formula 1 X Senna, which draws attention with its red theme identified with the famous race driver, comes to life this time with a mechanical caliber.
The new model comes with a 44mm diameter case. The sporty case made of stainless steel sports a ceramic insert tachymetric bezel and a crown/chronograph pusher set decorated with red accents. The case, which has a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal on the front and an Ayrton Senna-themed solid cover on the back, is water-resistant up to 200 meters.
Adorned with details in red and black, the dial hosts an anthracite background with a sunray pattern. Details such as Senna and the characteristic letter S on the dial designed in the Tri-Compax chronograph arrangement highlight the thematic character of the model. There is also a date window at 3 o'clock on the dial, which promises fast and clear reading in almost any environment, with Super-LumiNOVA filled hands and indices.
The Caliber 16 movement, which we remember from many different models in the TAG Heuer product group, gives life to the stylish model. Equipped with chronograph and date features, the automatic movement operates at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph) and offers a power reserve time of up to 42 hours when fully wound.
Another important feature of the new model is the bracelet. Inspired by the bracelet in the TAG Heuer S/EL model, which the famous pilot rarely took off his wrist, the model comes with the iconic bracelet that has been engraved in memories with the brand's Link product line.
