TAG Heuer received great acclaim with the new Monza Flyback Chronometer model introduced as part of the LVMH Watch Week 2023, which started yesterday.
Monza, which found its place in Heuer catalogs for the first time in 1976, stands out with the theme of automobile racing, as in many classic models of the brand. Bringing together watch and automobile enthusiasts with its models inspired by motorsports, the famous brand meets with watch lovers once again with a new Monza version equipped with high-tech elements, opposite to the vintage-themed models introduced in the past.
Unlike its retro-inspired predecessors, the new model comes with a high-tech case made of matte black carbon material. Designed with a diameter of 42mm, the case draws attention with its camouflage-like surface patterns due to the unique texture of the forged-carbon material used. The case, which has sapphire crystals on the front and back, sports a black DLC-coated stainless steel crown with the TAG Heuer logo and piston-style chronograph pushers. The sporty case is resistant to 100 meters of water pressure.
The new TAG Heuer Monza Flyback Chronometer continues the high-tech theme on the dial as well. The dial, which has tachymeter and pulsometer scales on the outside, emphasizes the modern character of the model with its skeleton design. The dial, which is equipped with chronograph counters made of blue-smoked sapphire crystal, also draws attention with its unusually designed Bi-Compax layout. There is a date window at 9 o'clock on the dial, where blue and red accents add movement.
The bombardment of technology and innovation continues in the movement part. The new model comes to life with the in-house designed and produced Heuer Caliber 02. The COSC-certified automatic movement houses the date function in addition to the column wheel and vertical clutch chronograph feature.
Added to the standard (not limited) collection, the new TAG Heuer Monza Flyback Chronometer is secured to the wrist with a black textile strap decorated with blue stitching and a carbon folding clasp. The list price for the model is 13,850 USD.
