Combining sunbeam pattern with frosted gold.
You may remember, Audemars Piguet celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Royal Oak women's watches in 2016 with the 'Frosted Gold' models born from a collaboration with the Italian jewelry designer Carolina Bucci. The dials of the models, which met with watch lovers in pink and white gold cases, were adorned with the 'Tapisserie' motifs, the trademark of the Royal Oak. The successful cooperation continued in 2018 with the Carolina Bucci Limited Edition Royal Oak Frosted Gold model with a yellow gold case and a mirror-effect dial that we have not met before.
If there's a peak point for me, it's the Carolina Bucci Limited Edition model. Both ultra-luxury and so naive. If you want to experience real luxury with an exaggerated but sharp design, I sincerely say that watch is the best one ever created.
Audemars Piguet has added a new one to its models where it combines sophisticated micromechanics with refined feminine aesthetics: Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept Frosted Gold Tourbillon. The model comes in two different case options, 18K pink (Ref. 26630OR.GG.D326CR.01) and 18K white gold (Ref. 26630BC.GG.D326CR.01). It is the new piece that came out of the partnership.
Royal Oak Concept Frosted Gold Tourbillon is the first model to present the 'frosted gold' motif, an ancient Florentine jewel technique, in a sculptural, versatile Royal Oak Concept case. Small indentations in the surface of the gold are created with a diamond-tipped tool and used to create a sparkling effect. Shiny 38.5mm diameter case resists water pressure up to 20 meters. A translucent sapphire cabochon winding crown adjusts the movement.
The dial consists of four increasingly sized and brightly colored blue circles that move towards the flying Tourbillon cage at 6 o'clock. The depth of the dial stands out with the sunlight motif. At the heart of the tourbillon cage is a skeletonized circle with diamonds. The model features no hour markers where gold hands display the time.
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept Frosted Gold Tourbillon is powered by the hand-wound movement Caliber 2964, which provides a minimum power reserve of 72 hours when fully wound.
Complemented with a dark blue alligator strap and "frosted gold" buckle compatible with the case material, the models take their place in Audemars Piguet boutiques with a price tag of 145,000 CHF.
