Still dominated mostly by men, the world of watches has an increasing number of women followers. The brands do not remain unresponsive to this fact and offer ladies’ collections even through the most significant events of the industry like SIHH and Baselword. Today, we have the Bella Ora ( Ref. T103.310.11.123.00 ) model by one of the major players in the Swiss Watch Industry –Tissot.
The model from the Bella Ora Collection, which we had the opportunity to see during the Baselworld 2016 exhibition, has two prominent features: the shape of the case and the color of the dial. The oval shaped measures 31.4mm x 28mm. With its 51gr total weight, Bella Ora offers optimum comfort even for the smallest wrists. The case sports a scratch proof sapphire crystal on the front and a solid stainless steel caseback giving the watch a 30M water resistance rating which is pretty weak even for a dress watch of today.
The degraded dial features a three tone color scheme from mother of pearl to black. The center of the dial is darker which helps the legibility a little but not that much as there is only one hour marker located at 12 o’clock side. While this seems to be the only negative side for the model we have here, I believe it won’t really be a problem as women mostly care more about the looks than the usability. In the meantime, please note that there are 12 different versions in the collection and some of them have full hour markers if readability is essential.
Despite the budget friendly MSRP the glamour and elegance are nicely balanced in this particular timepiece. With it’s fully mirror polished bezel and jem set winding crown, Bella Ora provides a perfect wrist presence.
