Ulysse Nardin, one of the indispensable names of the nautical-themed models, is under the spotlight with the Great White Limited Edition version from the new Diver Chronometer collection presented to the watch enthusiast last year.
Ulysse Nardin introduced the new Diver Chronometer Collection at last year’s Monaco Yacht Show and received very positive feedbacks. The new diver watches collection, inspired by the brand’s cult Marine Chronometer concept, has attracted attention with its technological innovations as well as refined details. The model we selected for you from this young collection is Diver Chronometer Great White Limited Edition, which was highly acclaimed with its color palette featuring light tones.
The model comes in a 44mm diameter case that is made of ultra-light titanium alloy. Representing the new face of the model family at the same time, the case offers a strong and sporty look with its lugs that longer and stronger than its predecessor does. The bezel, which is updated with 12 rider tabs for each hour instead of the previous fluted one, also emphasizes the sporty character of the model. The uni-directional bezel is equipped with a white ceramic insert designed in a concave form. The bezel, which adds the front face of the model a three-dimensional look with the slightly domed sapphire crystal glass, is undoubtedly one of the most striking features of the model. The 300 meters/ 30 bar water resistant case features is a screw-lock crown and a solid case back decorated with the Great White Shark figure that gives the model its name. I have to say that the embossed shark figure on the case back is simply stunning...
The model’s dial also features details representing the modern design of the current collection. Laid out in the signature Marine Chronometer style, which is accepted as the legacy of the brand, the dial sports a circular power reserve indicator at 12 o’clock and a small seconds counter (and a date display) at 6 o’clock. The logo of the brand is on the left and the name of the model is placed on the right side of the dial. A gray / anthracite tone with a grainy surface is preferred for the model’s dial. The dial, which matches with the titanium case and strap links perfectly, is accompanied with Super-LumiNOVA phosphorus-filled hands and indexes that were designed very successfully in terms of both aesthetics and functionality. The blue details used in a trace amount refer to the marine theme of the model.
Ulysse Nardin Diver Chronometer Great White Limited Edition is powered by the manufacture movement Caliber UN-118. Equipped with a silicone balance, which was introduced to the luxury watchmaking industry by Ulysse Nardin, the self-winding movement beats at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph) and offers a 60-hour power reserve when fully wound.
The model is limited to only 300 pieces and comes with a white rubber strap designed in line with the overall color theme. An Ulysse Nardin signed titanium pin buckle secures the multi-piece rubber strap that features the brand classic metal links. MSRP for the model is 8,900 EUR.
