Vacheron Constantin, one of the major names in the league of high-end watchmaking, introduced the latest series of its highly praised Métiers d’Art Villes Collection. The new models feature amazing dials that depict Geneva, Paris, and New York from the air, after dark.

The magical view of the cities during the moments of landing and departure, which I made often during my travels, has always stuck with me. I can say that it has excited me very much to have this deterrent on the dials of the newly introduced Métiers d’Art Villes models by Vacheron Constantin. In these models, which combine traditional watchmaking and handicrafts, the night skylines of metropolises such as Geneva, Paris, and New York are processed on the dials.

It is not hard to guess the time and effort spent looking at the dials created by the Japanese artist Yoko Imai. The artist started with a solid gold plate and then painted it using blue, green, and gray colors. At the last stage, Imai placed the precious stones (diamond and pearls) and precious metals (gold and platinum) on the dials.

The 18K white gold case measures 40mm in diameter. The case sports sapphire crystals on the front and back side of the case. The logo of the brand is also machined on the inside of the front sapphire crystal glass so as to not disturb the dial’s integrity. The thickness of the case is designed to be under 9mm (8.9mm), as it is in other models of the Métiers d’Art Collection. The water resistance rating is specified as 30M.

The models included in the new series are powered by the brand’s in-house Caliber Ref. 2460 SC. The 27-jeweled movement beats at 28.800vph and is made up of 182 different pieces. The rotor of the mechanism, which provides 40 hours of power reserve in a full installation, is manufactured from 22K solid gold.

The watch comes on a black crocodile leather strap which is secured by an 18K white gold buckle featuring the famous Maltese cross.

The models will be offered through Vacheron Constantin Boutiques only. All of the watches in the Métiers d’Art Collection are hi-end timepieces, but these three models are my favorites with their special dial designs. It is nice to see that Vacheron Constantin’s collection includes such original products, although they are difficult models to obtain due to the limited production numbers and prices.
