The Overseas collection, which was completely renewed at the beginning of 2016, was introduced to the likes of watch enthusiast with a pair of new 18K Gold/Stainless Steel models.
Since the day it was first announced, Vacheron Constantin has continued to announce various variations for the Overseas collection.
The first timepiece we have here is the chronograph version with the reference code 5500V / 000M-B074.
The model has a 42.5mm case diameter and a case thickness of 13.7mm. The Maltese cross inspired bezel, chronograph pushers and winding crown of the model are made of 18K rose gold. The rest of the watch is stainless steel. The case sports an AR coated sapphire crystal on the front face and it is water resistant to 150M.
The new model is powered by the brand’s in-house Caliber Ref. 5200. 54 jewels self-winding movement beats at 4Hz and offers a power reserve of 52 hours when fully wound. The oscillating rotor of the movement is made of 22K solid gold.
The model comes on a brown alligator strap. The hand-stitched leather strap is secured by a stainless steel folding clasp. There’s also a brown rubber strap in the presentation box.
The second model is the Ref.4500V / 000M-B127 measuring 41mm x 11mm. Three handed model features the Caliber Ref. 5100. 37 jewels movement offers a 60-hour power reserve when fully wound.
The other technical features of the model are similar to the chronograph version.
With the combined use of steel and gold, Overseas is at a more reasonable price. It is also a personal opinion, but the use of steel and gold in the same castle is the detail I like. That’s why the new Vacheron Constantin Overseas loves two-tone hours and is a solution for those who want to use it in every environment
Thanks to the Two-Tone concept, the new models are offered in relatively more affordable prices. In the meantime, I am a big fan of steel and gold timepieces. The new models are pretty versatile to be worn on almost every occasion with price tags way more reachable compared to solid gold versions.
