Last year, after the admiration of Defy El Primero Rainbow, which was specially prepared for China, Zenith applied the same exciting design to two different limited production Defy Classic models.
The Defy Classic cases, which come in a faceted design with a 41mm diameter, are offered in hardened ultra-light titanium alloy and scratch-resistant Midnight Black ceramic. Defy Classic has a very futuristic appearance with its surfaces where polishing, matt brushing, and micro sandblasting applications are used together. What distinguishes these two models from the others is undoubtedly their bezels decorated with colored stones. The bezel adorned by 48 baguette cut sapphires reflecting all the colors of the rainbow looks quite remarkable. On the front side, domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflection on both sides is used, while the case back is equipped with a sapphire crystal as well. The watches are resistant to water pressure up to only 30 meters.
The Zenith Defy Classic Rainbow has a star motif at the center of its dial. The open dial creates a sense of depth with its modern architectural background. In the Midnight Black ceramic version, the hands, markers and raised flange ring are completely blackened by the black Super-LumiNova, while the titanium version features rhodium markers and hands filled with white luminous pigments on the black flange ring. The yin and yang contrast between the two versions is enhanced by the sparkle of colored sapphires on the bezel.
The gem-set, angular case houses the Caliber Elite, one of Zenith’s main movements. Self-winding movement beats at a frequency of 28.800vph and offers a power reserve of 50 hours when fully wound.
The Midnight Black ceramic model of the Defy Classic Rainbow is complemented by a black alligator strap with rubber base adorned with red stitches, and the titanium version is complemented by a blue alligator strap with white stitching. There are only 150 of the two limited-edition versions of the Rainbow series.
